Getting around

Whitechapel is a network, not a single commute

TfL lists Whitechapel station as served by the Elizabeth line, the District line, the Hammersmith & City line and London Overground's Windrush line. That gives four independent ways to reach central London and the City, so a single line closure rarely isolates the flat. A five-minute walk adds a fifth — Shadwell DLR, with direct trains to Bank and Canary Wharf, and a straight DLR run to Greenwich on weekends.

Four lines. If one fails, three remain.

When the Elizabeth line is disrupted, the District and Hammersmith & City still run. When those are suspended, the Windrush line and Shadwell DLR are within a five-minute walk. That redundancy is worth more day-to-day than any optimistic door-to-door claim.
